SM: When did you start modeling?
KN: I started at 14 when I won a contest in Edmonton and I’ve modeled for 19 years since!
SM: Where have you travelled?
KN: My first trip was to Milano, where I was based for 5 years. I was placed with agencies
and travelled throughout Italy, Spain, Greece, The Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland,
Taiwan, Hong Kong, Canada, and the United States. I’ve booked jobs and travelled to
such locations as Cuba, the Dominican Republic, France, China, and Kenya.

SM: What do you do outside of modeling?
KN: Most people don’t know that I work full-time at the Foothills Hospital for a residency
program called Public Health and Preventive Medicine. I also work as Fashion Editor for
Freq Magazine (freqmagazine.com). This involves developing monthly fashion editorials
from conception through to production and layout. Being in front of the camera has
given me the experience to be behind the scenes, and I LOVE the creativity that ensues
from this.
SM: What are some jobs that we can see you in right now?
KN: I am currently featured in the ParkLuxe Campaign/Show, Heart Truth Campaign/Show,
Bridal Expo Campaign/Show.
La Senza
SM: So what’s next?
KN: I just received my working visa for the USA so I would like to pursue my career further
in that market. I also really enjoy teaching workshops on runway and photo movement.
As well, if I could take the magazine work to new heights that would be a dream come
true!
SM: Do you have any advice for aspiring models?
KN: Go to school, but know that experience/travel/life is also “school.” Be professional, be
business-smart, be bold, but DO NOT be a diva. Experience and immerse yourself in
different cultures and places. Learn languages. Work hard. Play hard. Love what you do.
Take care of yourself. Learn from failures, but don’t dwell on them. Always remember
how lucky you are and don’t take anything for granted. Call your mom. Always try to
give more than you take. Confidence is beautiful. “It’s nice to be important, but it’s more
important to be nice.” And finally, kill it every single time you walk a runway or do a
shoot. Just kill it.
