Profiling International Model Zach W. of Sophia Models

Sophia Models' Zach recently returned from his first modeling trip overseas throughout Asia. We had the chance of asking him a few questions in the hopes of sharing with you more about him and his modeling career. Zach will soon be modeling overseas for the 2nd time later this year, this time in Korea.

What is your favourite picture from your portfolio and why?

This is my personal favourite shot in my book. I worked on this shoot with a photographer that has a lot of experience in Europe. He is a true master at utilizing natural lighting. We shot at the 2nd floor of an awesome little cafe in Singapore. For me I feel the picture shows my confidence and strength, with subtle hints of sexuality. This demonstrates very much my personality as well.

What is your dream model job?

I have been eyeing 2 particular jobs for a while. With my background being in Nutrition and Fitness, I have dreamed about hitting the cover of Men's Health magazine. On the other side after filming a few TVC's in Asia, I have begun to desire a job for something like Axe. They have very fun and entertaining commercials. I would like to be part of a production like that.

What are you doing when you are not modelling?

I love being active, in whatever way I can. Most of my time off I can be found up in the mountains. I am at home at the peaks in the crisp clean mountain air. Coasting down the mountain creating freshly glistening tracks or getting my feet wet crossing a creek creates a triumphant mood within.

What is your favourite quote?

Personally I have 2 that are very much related to each other.

"Only those who risk going too far can possibly find out how far they can go,"  T.S. Eliot

"You miss 100% of the shots you don't take," Wayne Gretzky (this was the inspiration for the title of my blog)

What do you think is the biggest misconception about models or the model industry?

This may seem obvious but I fight the Zoolander reputation constantly. I am quite proud of my modelling work, but don't like the notions that we lack intelligence or worse yet are self absorbed. I have a degree in Nutrition and try and be as modest as possible about the modelling. Much of the time I don't tell people about modelling but rather have them discover it on their own. This has worked well for eliminating the preconceived notions about modelling and my personality.
